Ever since we started travelling, we’ve visited dozens of glamping hotels and retreats all over the world. You know we love glamping, so we’ve had some crazy experiences involving teepees, tree-houses, tents, and refurbished motorhomes. At one point we found ourselves in an igloo at the freezing Arctic Circle. Soon after, we landed in a bamboo hut in tropical Thailand. Dozens of such experiences over the years has made the task of picking favourites almost impossible. But here is our list of Top 8 Glamping Holidays In The World- there’s something here for you whatever your budget 🙂
1) LUXURY CAMPING LIKE NEVER BEFORE- LADAKH, INDIA
Ladakh is one of the most spectacular and remote glamping destinations in India. Soul lifting scenery with blue lakes and white sands, beautiful valleys and mountains along with the most luxurious and lavish glamping tents made our stay here one of our most memorable ones yet.
The experience at The Ultimate Travelling Camp (TUTC) is truly as indulgent as it gets – Persian rugs, heated tents, hot and cold showers, plug sockets, luxuriously-scented toiletries, ornate chandeliers, mini-bar packed with goodies, and a personal butler on call! The in-house restaurant serves extravagant three course meals – think entreés made with the finest ingredients, indulgent Indian curries, and luscious desserts – where else would you get a chance to relish pan-seared scallops on a bed of sundried-tomatoes in the shadow of a gorgeous Monastery and star-spangled skies?

2)AFFORDABLE ROMANTIC GLAMPING – GLAMPING HUTS AT LAKE BLED, SLOVENIA
A fairy-tale setting, truly romantic ambiance, and a unique character- glamping in Slovenia has it all and then some more. We stayed at Gozdne Vile Glamping Huts and had a great time. These wooden huts (a set of 8 ) are part of a larger camping ground strategically located next to Lake Bled. The tiny wooden huts are equipped comfortable beds, private hot showers, private hot tubs, powers sockets, and cupboards. A stay here is extremely affordable but there is no shortage of creature comforts.
Every morning, a breakfast hamper is left outside your hut. Expect a huge selection of breads, fruits, cold cuts, yogurts, cheese, and cereals inside. Gozdne Vile Glamping Huts are ideal for a couple for a 1 or 2 night stay at Lake Bled.

3) GLAMPING FOR FAMILIES AT YELLOH VILLAGE, EUROPE
If you’re travelling with kids, then it’s always preferable to choose a glamping site that offers spacious accommodation and facilities for kids – look out for amenities such as playpens, swimming pools, and play rooms.
The Yelloh Village has several campsites all over France, Spain, and Portugal that are ideal for a glamping holiday with young kids. Their premium camping accommodation mostly includes tents, vintage motor homes and cottages. We stayed at La Chênaie, Yelloh Village’s campsite near Nantes, France. We chose a colourful cottage with two bedrooms, fully-equipped kitchen and a cozy lounge area. A large basket full of essentials like milk, chocolates, and tea awaited us at the cottage. We felt at home within minutes.
The campsite at La Chênaie kid-friendly and has a large playground, two swimming pools, and provision for lots of different activities such as kayaking and farm visits. There’s also a hammam, sauna and a spa to keep adults occupied.

4) GLAMPING IN THE AMAZONIAN RAINFOREST IN PUERTO MALDONADO, PERU
Exploring the Amazon Rainforest had always figured high on our wish list. So we knew we had to put it on our itinerary for Peru. The Rainforest Expeditions Lodges are so remotely located and so distant from civilization (8 miles from the nearest motorable road!), so we were quite apprehensive.
But our stay proved otherwise – we had running hot water through the day, power supply, sockets, electric fans, sumptuous organic meals cooked from local produce and even an internet connection in the middle of the jungle! The Rainforest Expeditions Lodges are ideal for families and bigger groups. But if you are fond of luxury travel or you’re on your honeymoon, we’d suggest staying in the stand-alone Amazon Villa. We opted for this bespoke private experience and it left us spellbound. The villa is well equipped and eco friendly. It boasts of a large living room, a private bar, a well-stocked kitchen, bathroom full of locally made toiletries, bath tub (yes that’s right!) and a large bedroom overlooking the rainforest. So if you’re planning a trip to the Amazon Rainforest but don’t want to rough it out – just opt for glamping in the wilderness. You’ll love every bit of it!!

5) AFFORDABLE WEEKEND GETAWAY IN SARISKA, INDIA
V Resorts in Sariska, Rajasthan makes for an ideal glamping getaway from Delhi. It is conveniently located, about a 4.5 hour drive away from the capital city. This also makes it perfect if you are visiting India for a short time and want to club it with a visit to the Golden Triangle.
We chose to stay at V Resorts which is a perfect choice whether you’re travelling as a couple or with family. At the glamping site, luxurious canvas tents are well equipped with all kinds of amenities- running hot water, showers, comfortable beds, power sockets etc. The site also has an infinity pool and a restaurant that serves delicious Indian food and Rajasthani thalis (tasting platters). This campsite is close to the Sariska National Park and Tiger Reserve. Make sure you go for a safari – you’ll catch sight of spotted deer, antelopes, peacocks, monkeys and maybe even a tiger. There are also several dilapidated, but stunning historical ruins, in the area. Great hospitality, affordable tents, and offbeat historical sites – this one is a no brainer!

6) GLAMPING IN LAPLAND, FINLAND
Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort in Lapland is undoubtedly the prettiest place we have ever visited. Set amidst frosty Arctic forests, this resort is like none other we’ve seen. Located almost at the northernmost tip of Europe, the landscape here comprises of reindeer farms, igloos, beautiful trees and skiing slopes. There are no hotel rooms here but a series of round heated igloos with transparent roofs. This is glamping of the most special kind because the beds inside the igloos can be converted into reclining loungers to gaze and admire the most wonderful view of the Northern Lights through the roof. This sure is a once in a lifetime experience which is bound to leave a mark in your memory, long after you have been there.
The resort also offers log cabin huts where each hut is equipped with a fireplace, kitchen, private sauna and comfortable beds. These are ideal if you need privacy. Go tobogganing down ice slides, go for long walks in the snow, meet native Sami tribe members, or go for reindeer sleigh rides in the Arctic wilderness. It’s easy to spend entire days sitting and absorbing the stunning environment here. One thing to keep in mind is that the price is high but you are not paying for luxury but for basic facilities such as heating and hot food at a remote location and in sub zero temperatures.

7)LUXE GLAMPING IN AUSTRALIA FOR AN ACTIVE AND ADVENTUROUS HONEYMOON
If your idea of perfect travelling is a fully-catered-for trip that is luxurious yet adventurous, then this is the experience for you. Located three hours away from Melbourne, The 12 Apostles Lodge is surrounded by forests on all sides. But it also has all physical comforts you could possibly need but you are there to partake in one of Australia’s greatest walks – a 100 kilometre long trail known as the Great Ocean Walk.
The walk is spread out over 4 days and the package includes indulgent accommodation, gourmet food, wine, luxurious snacks, and a guided walk through the Australian bush. Expect to wake up to the twittering of birds and soothing sun rays everyday. You will spot lots of kangaroos and other wildlife as you make your way through the bush but the end is truly spectacular. The walk ends at the iconic Twelve Apostles – if that isn’t enough, the moment is followed by an epic helicopter ride over the beach at Twelve Apostles .We thoroughly enjoyed the 12 Apostles Lodge Walk and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious but adventurous vacation.

8) POCKET-FRIENDLY GLAMPING IN EUROPE
With the travel industry booming and the world becoming a smaller place, people are moving away from the traditional stay in hotels to a vacation in private homes. This offers more privacy and suits a variety of budgets too. This is why we enjoy using Air B&B! We’ve used the website extensively over the past 2 years but we especially love using it in Asia and Europe as it’s easy to find gorgeous cottages and apartments in these locations. Some of our favourite stays so far have been in a reasonable chalet in Switzerland, a villa amidst paddy fields in Bali, picturesque cottages in Slovenia (next to gurgling rivers, lakes, and mountains – you name it!), and log cabins in Iceland. If you’re thinking of using Air B&B, you can sign up using this link to get $40 of your first stay. In case you need convincing about booking this chalet, you can read all about it here.
Prices for cottages start at £25/INR 2500 per night
