One of my very first posts on Bruised Passports dwelt on beach cover-ups. Now ordinarily, one would just grab a towel and a bikini for the beach. But what about the days when beach bumming is just one of the things on your agenda? You can’t exactly be prancing in the countryside in your swimwear can you?

Enter the versatile beach cover-up. Opt for one that isn’t transparent or flimsy, so it can see you through whatever place or situation the day throws at you.

I chose a maxi cover-up for our day out in Costa Brava, Spain. It is literally the easiest thing to throw on top of a bikini. I just added on a green belt to complement the graphic print of the maxi dress. The ginormous straw bag (large enough to fit a supermarket 😉 ) is another beach essential. Towels, sun-creams, snacks, this bag can take ’em all.

Dress: ASOS (available here)

Bag: Topshop

Hair Clips : Primark (same here, but styled differently)

Sunglasses: New Look

We had breakfast under grape vines (more on that in the next blog post) and got sidetracked by some stunning sunflower fields on our way to the beach.

After gallivanting to our heart’s content, we drove down to the charming medieval town of Besalu. Time stands still here – it has the narrowest alleys, fortified bridges, and medieval stone houses.

After a day of beach-bumming, we stopped for a quick coffee in another one of Costa Brava’s tiny villages. There you have it – A dress that saw it all – the countryside, medieval markets, a beach, and a coffee shop 🙂

    1. Cat I’d choose Costa Brava’s countryside to Barcelona any day. I love the tiny villages, the greenery, and the orchards 🙂
