An outfit from a little town on the Italian Riviera- Savona. Like most Liguarian towns, Savona is full of crumbling alleys and pavements. There isn’t much “to do” in the traditional sense of the word, but that is the charm of it. It is easy to spend a day exploring the crevices of crumbling buildings, lingering in front of intricate doors, and following the wafting smells of Liguarian food  (which we drooled over here) with half-closed eyes.

The Priamar Fortress, where we shot most of these pictures, is the perfect symbol of Savona’s dishevelled but fascinating nature. I chose a bright red outfit to counteract the browns of Savona’s buildings (and liven the proceedings a bit?). Do you remember this skirt? I wore it in the depth of winter here. In Savona, I decided to ditch the blacks and wore it with a blindingly-bright red top. I added gold accents – aviators, a chunky gold necklace, padded gold bag, and waist-cinching belt – to pull the look together. This outfit incorporates a number of key summer trends – bright colours, collar necklaces, and skater skirts – all at one go. Offsetting such a statement outfit with metallic accessories is the perfect way to stop it from being overwhelming. It always works- don’t believe me? Check out this outfit from Spain and this one from Slovakia.

    1. Thanks a ton Payal- so happy to read your comment. I will pass your compliments to Vid 🙂

  5. That is a fantastic look! Everything for the shades that are really suited to your style and shape of face, to the gorgeous belt ( edgy and feminine ), and then I love that you finished this look off with the nicest black wedges I think I’ve ever seen ( sort of curious where you got those! ).

    1. Hey Kasia thanks a ton. I had to wear that belt to stop myself from looking like Red Riding Hood 😉 The wedges are from New Look – they’re the comfiest pair of heels I own, so they feature in a lot of my outfit posts.
