When GowithOh challenged us to put together an outfit for Paris, I immediately thought of a flouncy midi skirt. Of course, I would’ve liked to waltz in a maxi dress with a trail but thought I’d stick to a more practical alternative since I wouldn’t have a red carpet following me around town 😉
I opted for a bright midi skirt from ASOS for our date. The skirt holds its shape well but I added a mesh petticoat under it to make it extra-flouncy. The petticoat gives it a lot more volume and lends a modern touch to the midi length.
I wanted to keep the rest of the outfit simple – a basic black bandeau top, black heels, bejewelled gem earrings, and a simple box clutch bag. Most days, I’m all for embracing messy hair (something you’ve witnessed in one-too-many outfit posts 😉 ) but I do take the trouble of preening them a bit on the rare occasion. This was just one of those days – I opted for a sleek low bun to compliment the outfit.
Summer in Paris feels like a technicolour musical – how about an outfit to corroborate the mood?

Ohlalaaaaaaaaaaaaa! That’s a great choice for a “Paris mood”! Savi looks gorgeous with the midi!!!
Whee – thanks Sara 🙂 Your comment made me smile
Looking gorgeous !!love your outfit
Thanks Preeti 🙂
I have never been the most fashion-conscious girl, apart from special occasions, but you are starting to make me re-think my ways! You look stunning, what a perfect outfit for Paris!!
Aww Christina – I don’t think of myself as being particularly fashion-conscious either. I never know much about trends or labels, I just like having fun with clothes and accessories that catch my eye 🙂
Love the skirt and love your style!
Thanks a million 🙂 I’ve been wearing this skirt a lot recently
Definitely French Chic – Love the look!
Thanks Kate 🙂
Looking forward to see what you’d wear in Gran Canaria. I’d assume you’d have one outfit for Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and another for, say, the Valle de Agaete? Then a completely different one for the beach.
Matthew I think it would be similar to the outfits I wore in Lanzarote (https://www.bruisedpassports.com/wears/spain-beach-cover-ups-and-then-some). I must admit it’s tough to be talked out of packing just swimwear while visiting the Canaries – the beaches are just SO gorgeous.
Yes, that look would definitely work on Gran Canaria too.
Yes this is just how I imagine I look in Paris. If you squint hard enough, ahem.
Delia I’m sure you would look incredibly gorgeous in Paris (or elsewhere in the world for that matter) 🙂
I adore this outfit. You look so put together and beautiful. That skirt reads as solid, but the close up photo shows the stripes. Lovely!
Thanks a million Leah – I plan to wear that skirt to death 😉
