  1. Hey guys!

Congratulations on this new travelogue! Completely love it! My husband & I are going to France for our (deferred) honeymoon this summer. We are using Nice as a base and driving around the Riviera for 7 days and then flying to Paris for 3 days and off to London for another 4.

We simply LOVE food and believe that its the best way to discover a city’s culture. Any tips on where we MUST go for a drink or coffee or a meal would be much appreciated. If you guys can think of any fun things to do around these places, please do let us know!

Looking forward to hearing from you’ll!

    1. Hey Radhika- we know those areas very well. Just drop us an email using the ‘Contact Us’ tab and we’ll get back to you with a list of places in Nice, Paris and London 🙂

  2. Nice blog. Shud have read before me n my husband went on a europe vacation recently. Got back this morn actually. 🙂 visited Barcelona, Rome and Paris. Very touristy. I was on an official trip to Uk and spain (asturias) for 3 weeks before my husband joined me 10 days ago. Great times. Could have done certain things differently maybe. Haha. Amazing experience.

Wish list – scotland, prague, brussels, austria, milan, nice,

    1. Thanks a ton Aruna- we hope you continue to enjoy Bruised Passports 🙂 You could go the offbeat way on your next work trip 😉

  3. Me and my husband are travel lovers too, looking forward to your post on the USA. Everytime there is a new post up, I show it to my husband. Europe trip is on our lust list. 🙂

    1. Thanks a ton Yasmeen- would love to help you plan your trip if/when you decide to make the trek to Europe 🙂

  4. Hello Savi & Vid,

This blog is a gem of an article and I really loved it. I came to know of it today in TOI’s 9th Jun ’13 edition and could not wait to read it. It was published in the ‘Mumbai Mirror’. I am also a travel geek & being a bachelor still, I have travelled with freinds & family. Sometimes I also travel alone. As I am into a full time job it becomes very difficult to juggle between the two. Till date I have been to a dozen countries but mostly 3rd world ones in Asia & Africa. I like to travel to those places which is not exactly an ideal travel destination (but has the ingredients to be one) and not many people dare to go. Sometimes it really becomes very risky but once you come back you feel that the risk was worth taking. The notable ones I have been to is the ‘Horn of Africa’ in Somalia, the still somewhat intact ‘Bamiyan Buddha statues’ in Afghanistan, the picturesque ‘Swat & Hunza Valley’ in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan, the ‘Zamboanga forests’ in the Philippines, the sun kissed beaches in Battambang in Cambodia amongst others. What I feel is, with due respect, planning a trip to Europe or the Americas is no big deal. You just have to have the finances in order & time of course. Everything else will fall in place. I liked the page on Haifa in Israel very much because not many people think of Israel as a tourist destination. (Please be aware that with Israeli stamped passports you will not be allowed to enter any of the Islamic nations in future except Egypt & Jordan and with special request to Oman & Malaysia unless you apply for a new passport). Even I intend to start a blog like this but could not do so till date due to time and other constraints. Anyway, please continue to carry on the good work and post pages on new destinations. Best of luck to your future endeavours.

    Yours truly,

    1. Hey Subhadip – thanks for writing in. Good to see you share our passion for travel. We got our Israeli visas on separate sheets and not our passports for the same reason- the Israeli high-commission is extremely compliant if you put a request in.

I recently came across your website and fell in love with the way you have described about your offbeat travel experiences.I am planning a very short Easter trip to Belgium and Netherlands (3nights 4 days). Could you please advice me what places are good to go in Belgium. I read your Netherlands blog and got quite a good picture on what to do there but if you would help me wit Belgium it would be great 🙂

    1. Hey Laasya – hope you continue to enjoy reading Bruised Passports. If you’re in Belgium for a short time, visit the small towns (Bruges is great to begin with) instead of Brussels. They’re straight out of a fairy-tale and you’ll love them 🙂

I have already been on 2 trips to Europe, once with friends and once with family. But now I feel that I rushed through places and didn’t explore properly. I intend to go on a 4 week holiday to Europe next year with my wife. This time I would love to hire a car and do a road trip. I am thinking of doing either Spain or Italy for 4 week holiday Would love to know your recommendation and it would be great if you could help me with itinerary for perfect driving holiday.

  28. Hey, I loved reading through all of this.
I am planning a trip to Malaysia – covering Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Georgetown, Cameron Highlands, Genting Highlands, Johar Bahru. I was wondering what to pack and what to wear, any suggestions? I am a little on the heavy side – M but prefer L cuz of tummy fat and was wondering if at all I will look any good in anything.

    1. Hey Kirti,

You will look amazing no matter what you wear 🙂 Be a nice human being and smile – you’ll automatically be amazing to whoever is in front of you.

As for packing, just pack cotton clothes as it can get very humid and light woolens for Genting (if needed).

      Much love and hugs
      Savi and Vid
