We have some exciting news ๐Ÿ™‚

We’ve been invited by the Mauritius Tourism Board (MTPA) to come and explore their gorgeous island and all it has to offer. Since this is our very first Press Tour we’ve very excited *li’l joys* ๐Ÿ™‚

We are hoping to come back with loads of information on Bruised Passports staples – gorgeous hotels perfect for honeymoons and romantic getaways, offbeat gems, pristine beaches, and street food haunts. Here’s a small selection of the things we’re planning to do –

We are planning to:

a) Rent a car and explore all the hidden gems on the island

Mauritius has an incredibly diverse landscape. We are hoping to sample itsย sugar caneย fields, extinctย volcanic craters,ย virtually unbroken coral reef, and crumbling colonial towns.

b) Relaxing on the pristine white beaches of the island

You know how much we love discovering hidden beaches. We’re hoping to spend a LOT of time exploring Mauritius’s sandyย beaches.

c) Savour the local delicacies of Mauritius

We hear Mauritian street food is amazing.ย A mix of Indian, African, French, and Creole influences, it’s known for combining spices, fruits, and vegetable in unique ways. Vid is already salivating as I type this ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. Vid can’t stop reading up on Mauritian street food Polly – he already has a list of 30 dishes he “must eat” in Mauritius ๐Ÿ˜‰

  1. Beaches in Mauritius are simply out of this world. The sand is very very clean and the water is also crystal clear. Do go for Under Sea Walk. You would simply love it. We had been to Mauritius 3 years back in August. Only problem is the shops close by 4 pm. Rest I do not have to say as you would have done a lot of research. By the way, green apples are very juicy and sweet there. We used to eat them daily.

    Have a great time.

  2. Olaaa! I went to Mauritius last summer with my cousin and it was beautiful. ๐Ÿ™‚
We stayed at the LUX Belle Mare which is an amazing property. There’s so much that they offer – snorkelling, glass water boats, movie screenings on the beach, local rum tasting – you guys must try this!! We tried about 15 different kinds of rum – exotic flavors like indian spices, coffee, peach, coconut and best was ‘roads to Havoc’. The local coffee and rum there was pretty good. The wine there is lip smacking tasty ๐Ÿ˜€ Finsihed bottles and bottles of the light and amzing Chenin Blanc, ScruCap, South Africa, 2010. We also took bikes on rent and drove around the city – locals speak Hindi and English .. the local markets are pretty much like that in India .. Indulge in calamari and prawns and lots more fresh seafood. Waiting to see your post once you’re back! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Loads of love

      1. Hey Ishita,
