road trip itinerary taiwan couple in taipei
Everything you want to know about us – read on 🙂

We asked you guys to send us questions on Bruised Passports’ Instagram and Facebook pages. Here we are answering all your questions as promised:

  • What is your favourite travel quote?

We thought we’d answer this unusual question first because our favourite travel quotes are representative of our outlook towards life itself:

Vid: “They deem me mad because I will not sell my days for gold; and I deem them mad because they think my days have a price” – Kahlil Gibran

Savi: “When our eyes are graced with wonder, the world reveals its wonders to us. So much depends on HOW we look at things. The quality of our looking determines WHAT we come to see.” – John O’Donohue

  • How old are you?

Vid’s 34 and I’m 32. That said, you’ll often find us behaving like kids 🙂

  • When did you meet?

In high school, when we were 16 and 14 respectively

  • Did you travel before you started blogging?

Yes of course. We’d already travelled to 50 countries and had thousands of stories and photographs before we started Bruised Passports. Bruised Passports was an extension of our love for travel not the other way round.

  • How many countries have you visited?

75 at last count but the more we travel, the less we care about ticking countries off a checklist. The past few years have been much more about spending long periods of time in one country and really immersing ourselves in the culture wherever we go.

  • How educated are you?

Vid’s a computer engineer by profession. I have a PhD in English Literature and I’m a university lecturer.

  • What is your favourite country?

Vid – That’s a hard one but I love Iceland because I love driving and photography and there’s a surprise at every corner

Savi – Peru – it has so much colour, culture, such gorgeous panoramas, and the friendliest locals

  • Are there any destinations you don’t love?

Savi : Ummm I’m not particularly fond of Egypt – I think it’s a tad overhyped.

Vid :  Guayaquil Ecuador – the city has a very unsafe vibe

  • How do you pack for trips?

We try to pack light. We’ve written plenty of posts on this but check out this post which is a list of every single item that goes into our suitcases

  • How do you deal with visa issues?

We plan 6 month legs of travel and apply for any visas we need in London or Delhi (our two homes!) before we set off.

  • Did you always plan to quit your jobs or was it a spur-of-the-moment thing?

It was a well meditated decision. We put our savings towards a round-the-world trip instead of buying houses or cars as travel is our priority. We also started a blog and consciously moved towards a location-independent model of working so we could earn on the go.

  • How do you finance your travels?

We worked full-time jobs in London and saved for this round-the-world trip for 8 years. We put all our savings into travel instead of buying a house, cars etc. But we also work full time in travel and have a host of location-independent jobs to help sustain us as we go along. You can read the article titled ‘Who Are Savi and Vid‘ for all details about our lifestyle, financing travels, and travelling full time 🙂

  • What do you do in places such as Bali or Lake Atitlan for months?

Most of our work is online – so we work 8-10 hours a day, go the gym, visit amazing healthy eateries and just live a regular daily life.

  • What are the best and worst parts about being a professional travel blogger?

The best part is having a virtual family all over the world – bumping into you guys and hearing from you makes our day 🙂 We also love being able to pursue our passion as a profession and being able to work anywhere as long as there is good wifi.

The downsides? While the flexibility of working anywhere in the world is unparalleled, it can get really hard and time consuming to juggle location-independent jobs. Sometimes the temptation to give up is far too much. There’s also something else we dislike. We choose to share our lives with the world – but we dislike the way that gives some people the license to ask us extremely personal questions about our income or personal relationship – questions you would NEVER ask of someone in real life!

Our wee office in Bali – juggling location independent jobs comes with its share of pros and cons

  • What camera equipment do you use?

Nikon D610 with 4 different lenses. You will find a detailed list of  all our camera gear in this articleBut I am contemplating upgrading my camera. Watch this space

  • Vid, how do you take such dreamy photos?

We are fortunate enough to visit some amazing sites around the world. But as with everything else the WAY you look at life also reflects in your photographs. I love seeing the world through rose tinted glasses, and love to portray that in my photographs too 🙂 PLUS, it helps to have a beautiful muse (Savi bribed me into saying this – just kidding  😉 )

couple at sunset morro bay california
The two of us enjoying a spectacular Californian sunset at Morro Bay, California

  • What’s your favourite cuisine?

Savi: Thai for the fresh herbs and spices and Greek for the fresh salads and that feta cheese. Nom!

Vid: I’m a foodie so I’ll try anything that comes my way. But I love French cheeses and I could have Japanese food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

  • What’s the craziest food you’ve eaten

Vid- Fried spiders and tarantulas in Cambodia

Savi – errr I’m not the most adventurous eater  😉

  • Do you have a base at all or do you live out of a suitcase?

For the past 2 years – out of a suitcase. But we do refresh the contents of that suitcase every time we are in London or Delhi  🙂

  • What are the issues closest to your heart?

Feminism – as a lot of you might know already, we are both feminists and big believers of gender equality. We feel true equality breeds true happiness in relationships and in life. The other issue close to our hearts is kid’s education – we frequently teach kids and donate supplies to schools while travelling. You would know it if you follow us on social media or if you read this post on Ladakh . That’s because we feel education, something most of us take for granted, is truly the greatest gift of them all. It’s the ONLY way to dispel ignorance and all sorts of societal evils (be it patriarchy, homophobia, casual sexism, or casteism).

  • What’s your favourite way of seeing a country?

Renting a car and driving through the country. Laying under the stars on a starry night 🙂

  • How do you stay healthy on the go?

We carry our Nutribullet everywhere we go and 2 meals of the day are usually fruits, smoothies, or huge salads. We work out at hotel gyms or go on long hikes on a daily basis. If we’re in a place for more than 2 weeks we enrol at a local gym in the area.

  • Advice for first time travellers?

Don’t try to check things off a list or pack too much into your itinerary – Breathe in the place and soak in all that it has to offer 🙂

  • Advice for aspiring bloggers?

Produce high quality content, post consistently, and never compare yourself to others – comparison is the thief of joy. Just put your best foot forward and focus on living out your dreams. We have a whole article that lists our favourite tips for aspiring bloggers.

  • How can WE earn an income on the road?
  1. Be Patient: Nothing worth having comes easy. It took us 8 years to save money to travel full time and 2.5 years (of 20 hour work days) to establish Bruised Passports and manoeuvre it towards a location-independent model of working before we quit our day jobs.
  2. Exploit YOUR skill-set whatever that might be:  We started a travel blog because we wanted to put my background in literature, Vid’s love for photography, and our shared passion for travelling together to produce travel related content we thought the internet needed. Therein lies the key to success. While it is tempting to start a travel blog, it truly might not be for everyone! You need to find your skill-set, whatever that might be, and monetise that on the road. There is work to be found irrespective of whether you’re a musician, engineer, doctor, or graphic artist. Here are a few ways in which you can earn money if blogging or living in the public eye isn’t your cup of tea:
  • Freelance online
  • Take up a job (TV show host, air steward etc) that involves travelling
  • Start a business that involves travelling. Eg: curating handicrafts from remote parts of the world etc.
  • Use your skill set towards setting up an online business such as trading or an e-shop
  • Teach in a foreign country

  • I want to take a break for a few years but don’t want to work on the road. How do I do it?

We hear you. Location-independent work can be extremely taxing and time consuming and it isn’t worth it if you want to truly break away from the monotony of your current job for a year or two. Here are a couple of other ways in which our travelling friends make their money go the extra mile:

  • Rent out your house and use the rent to travel the world
  • Travel on a shoestring budget – you’ll be surprised how far your money goes. For instance it is easy to live in Thailand or Indonesia for under $600 a month.

  • What do your tattoos mean?

The one I have on the nape of my neck is a Michelangelo quote which reads Ancora Imparo ( Latin for “Still I learn”/ “I continue to learn”). The one I have on my rib cage reads Fernweh (German for “an ache for distant places”)

  • Who clicks your photographs?

We click all our photos ourselves – sometimes we take the help of a tripod or people we meet along the way.

  • Where are you off to next?

The Far East – we’ve always wanted to visit South Korea and Japan, so we’re finally doing it.

  • For how long will you travel full time?

As long as we enjoy it 🙂 Travelling will always be a big part of our lives, but we will set up base somewhere soon.

  • What’s your favourite kind of accommodation?

Luxury hotels with great views for short stays and apartment rentals for longer ones – we love meeting people and making friends along the way but really cherish our privacy too, so private accommodation works best for us.

  • Anything you hate about travelling?

Hehe we usually love everything that comes with travelling. But yes there are some things  we dislike about travelling too. Check out this article we just wrote on 5 Things We Hate About Travelling

  • Any tips on choosing someone to spend your life with? Does Vid have any brothers 😉

Haha we get asked this every single day. Here’s our two cents – don’t EVER let society or convention tell you who to marry or when to marry! Instead, concentrate on finding someone who makes you TRULY happy, CELEBRATES your individuality, NURTURES your soul, RESPECTS you and VALUES your opinion, and INDULGES your craziest whims.

Long term commitments aren’t ever easy (far from it!) but they just need to be nurtured with the right mix of love, equality, happiness, and snuggles (always snuggles!).

Travelling the world together 🙂

  • Do you miss friends and family while travelling?

We make lots of friends as we go along, so there’s never any homesickness at all. But we try and catch up with our friends and family – over the internet or in person – as often as we can. In fact, spending precious time with our families, was one of the reasons we chose this lifestyle. Our busy jobs didn’t leave much time for that but now we try to spend as much time as we can with our folks.

  • How are you guys always smiling? Don’t you ever have bad travel experiences?

I’ll let you into a SECRET that makes travelling fun ️ There’s a shortcut to enjoying a new place where you don’t know the language or people – SURRENDER! Surrender to its whims, idiosyncrasies, and the little things that make it special. Accept a new place with open arms and eyes wide with wonder. Let the romance of the place sink in and watch yourself fall in love with it, irrevocably ️at that.

No – there is no wifi in that lil town in Morocco. Yes – white rice and potatoes is all you’ll get in the deserts of Bolivia. Yes – the day is just 5 hours long during winter in Lapland and there are no ATMs for miles. BUT there are panoramas that blow your socks off and people that make your heart sing. To everyone who asks us about handling wifi, currency exchange, language problems etc every single day – I will just say this. Magic is all around. You just have to SURRENDER.

  • What, according to you, is the one things that makes Bruised Passports special?

Bruised Passports isn’t just about travel. It’s about love and looking at the world through rose-tinted glasses. We’re both hellbent on chasing true happiness and phasing out the negativity and clutter that define modern life. Nobody’s life is perfect but focussing on the positives just leaves us with so much more time and energy to engage with things we love and pelt the ONES we love with hugs and kisses

A day without beaming smiles is a day wasted

  1. I loved reading the article and as always I love the positive vibe you throw in each and every piece you write. You know for better how much I love you guys ❤️

    1. Thanks Shivangi – always SUCH a pleasure hearing from you. Thanks for standing by Bruised Passports since day #1 🙂

  2. I could read it again and again and still feel like I’m reading it for the first time. You two are inspiring. Happy Travels 🙂

  3. Hi Savi/Vid,

Me and my wife are always inspired by you and your travels and blogs. We have already toured 14 countries and we hope to raise the number. Ultimately the world is a small playground and an extremely beautiful one.

    1. Hey Amlan – great hearing from you. Wish you tons of travel in the years to come. The world is truly a small and endlessly fascinating place 🙂

  4. You guys are awesome! Love your pics, stories and tips!We are going to Iceland in May and have devoured your blog!!Keep sharing & inspiring! Lots of wishes!

It makes me truly honestly so happy and the world seems a beautiful place !! After saying this i feel short of words to describe my love and inspiration for you guys ! I truly wish u guys the bery best of best in all your travel experiences !! ?❤️

    1. Hey Kushagr – so lovely to hear from you. We were wondering where you disappeared – you’ve been missed on Bruised Passports 🙂 So happy you enjoyed the post

  6. I have one more question, How do you have time to select the clothes you are wearing and how do you get so many ideas to mix match and reuse the stuff you already have? Do you follow anything for ideas or will it just come to you?

    1. Hehe Veni – I usually don’t have the time to do that as we literally travel 365 days of the year right now.I just throw in a few beach-appropriate things if we’re off on a tropical vacation or woollies if we’re away on a cold weather holiday and mix n match what I have once we are there. So to answer your question -the ideas just come to me 🙂

  7. I have just recently stumbled upon your blog but find your whole approach so positive and refreshing. Looking forward to be a part of your travels and make some of them our own. Much love to you both. And I know it has been perhaps said a million times but I have never said it.. you both make an adorable couple. Hugs and safe travels!

    1. Thanks a million Tanvi – we hope you enjoy following our adventures around the world. Sending bear hugs across the internet 🙂

  8. What a fun desk-lunch read!! Thanks for sharing… It has been fun following your journey, but I have felt personally offended/violated at times when people ask tawdry questions about how you guys finance your travels and such. It is just in such bad taste (although you guys always have such gracious answers). Glad you called it out here.

Separate note, we are learning to travel like troopers with our 14 month old man (he has now been on 22 flights, 3 continents, 16 cities, and is heading to his 7th country soon). We really need to stop counting! He has had falafels at Chez Hana in Paris and orange juice at djemaa el fna in Marrakech per your recommendations. So, blog away guys! You have tiny footsteps following right behind you…

    1. Thanks for your comment Amreena- it truly made our day. We try to be gracious because we chose to share a part of our lives on the web, but sometimes people really go overboard! So happy to hear someone other than us gets irked too!

We’d love to meet your son someday. 7 countries in 14 months? That sounds like our kinda baby 🙂

  9. As always, beautifully articulated! I’m heading for a month to Peru, Ecuador and doing a similar carnival cruise in Caribbean. No surprises, I have been devouring your blog! Your ultimate itineraries are so detailed and helpful!!
We need more blogs on how to take dreamy pictures while traveling ?

    1. Whoa Shilpa – that’s amazing news 🙂 Send us photos from South America and the cruise – we’d love to share them with our readers. We’ll definitely pen a post with photography tips soon, since so many readers have left requests about it

  10. Dear Savi and Vid,

I discovered your blog fairly recently, and I’ve been hooked ever since. 🙂

But I have very specific reasons for loving your work and since I’m not big on suspense (or half bakes compliments) I must tell you why!

    1. TRUTHBOMB: Most people only harp on about ‘wanderlust’ and travel because it makes them sound cool and vaguely interesting. I despise this on so many levels. I avoid most travel related web content because I don’t buy it most of the time. With you guys, however, I feel differently. I can feel the passion and love and ‘ache for distant places’ through the screen in fact. 🙂

    2. Savi, you reminds me a lot of myself (Okay, fine, you’re way prettier). 😛

    3. Your photographs are a lesson in composition. I could stalk your Instagram for hours.

    4. Your marriage and your general take on love resonates with me and mine completely. My husband is a feminist too, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Besides, much like you two – we’ve been together for eons!

    5. I really love the writing on this blog. The written word (even if it’s on a screen) is sacrosanct and I appreciate the effort you two put to keep it that way.

Keep doing what you do 🙂

Sending lots of love your way!

    1. Smriti I don’t know you but I’m sure you gorgeous 🙂 Thank you so much for your li’l note, it brought such smiles on our faces. Hallelujah for appreciating the written word in today’s photo-driven age – it truly is sacrosanct. I just wish more people thought like you. PS Feminist men are the sexiest

      1. So sweet of you guys to respond!

I hope the smiles weren’t because of my atrocious spelling (I forgot auto-correct was on), and I’m so embarrassed! Then I talk about the written word being sacrosanct – Uff!

Find me a nice, big hole to crawl into on your next travel?

        Much appreciated! 😉

        1. Hahha Smriti not at all – the smiles were for the beautiful message that you left 🙂

          Much love
          Savi and Vid

  11. Was really nice to read this article since it was about you guys and your outlook on travel and life! 🙂 This may sound crazy but I think it’s a possibility. Do you guys ever get bored of travelling? Because you know, when you do too much of something for an extensive period of time, you tend to get disinterested with that, right? *Don’t kill me now*

    1. Hehe damn – I wish we’d had that question before we wrote this answer and we would’ve definitely included it in the article. Yes, it’s definitely possible to get bored of travelling continuously. That’s why we slow down, ‘settle’, and spend a few months working in places like Bali or Lake Atitlan whenever we feel even the tiniest bit jaded of the constant moving around 🙂

      1. Ohhh finally got the answer to the question that’s been on my mind for a long time! 🙂
Also, I had replied to your Instagram story when you had asked for questions from us! I think your settings prevent you from receiving DMs?

    1. Aww Ankita, thanks so much for getting back. We are actually humbled by the thought of being inspirational. Thanks once again for your love and kind words:)

  12. Somehow lost touch with you guys… happy to be in touch!
Currently, on a 3 month excursion including Portugal, Spain & still deciding the rest.
Here’s to the ongoing adventure of it all & the beautiful people we meet on the way!

    1. Hey Peggy 🙂

So good to hear from you again 🙂 It’s great to reconnect 🙂 Hope your trip is coming along fine 😀

      Much love
      Savi and Vid

  13. WOW! Japan and South Korea would be the most interesting and exciting. Its Spring time. Can’t wait to see you guys posing beneath a canopy of cherry blossoms.Pink carpet with fallen petals and maybe a kimono and a parasol for savi 😉

    1. Hi Shilpi, we did all this and much , munch more in our recent trip to Japan during the Cherry Blossom season. The petals from the trees would just keep falling all over and create a carpet of pink. We loved Japan and its people-always so helpful and polite.

  14. Hey
I love ur blog and every single story is so inspiring… me n my hubby are travel hungry as u guys are and make an effort to travel at least once a year outside the country and one visit to near by places is a must…
I am completely in love with ur clothes gal just wanted to ask how do u manage to travel light with so many clothes shoes and accessories?????? and u should do an article only for girls on travel wear and how clothes make an impact on pictures..

    1. Thanks Adele, it makes our hearts sing when our readers like what we write. We really appreciate your getting back to us…big hugs:) 🙂

  15. This is great. Have been following you guys over social media for over a year now. Simply inspiring stuff. I have read each of your articles over 8-9 times just to find inspiration and never failed to find it (Now I can handle a Q&A on you guys :p). I am going to start planning my future on the lines of my aspirations towards travel. Unfortunately I couldn’t catch you guys in the TEDx event in Delhi, but will look forward to meet you guys in the near future.

    Happy traveling.
    Lots of love and regards.
    Rishabh

    1. Aww thanks so much Rishabh , we are immensely grateful to you for so much appreciation. Hope to see you in one of our meetups in Delhi 🙂

    1. Aww thanks so much Shweta….such feedback always manages to bring huge smiles to our faces 🙂

  16. Interesting post. I’m usually the kinds who reads a lot but never comments, but I guess this post was different from the rest 🙂

So, here’s a question for you, from a hobbyist travel blogger – in the last year, how many of your trips were sponsored by your clients in comparison to the total number of trips made?

    1. I’d say around 10% 🙂 We’ve been travelling together for over 12 years now and blogging just for 4, so we don’t really wait for press trips to travel. Bruised Passports is an extension of our love for travelling, not the other way round

    1. Thanks so much Teja, we really love it when readers get back to let us know how much they enjoy what we post 🙂

  17. Savi and vid you people are Awsom. After watching your blogging even i want to travel the world ?

    1. Travelling is the best learning experience one can ever have..we are happy to know that you plan to travel and see the world. All the best to you Teja!

  18. It was so good to know more about you, your passion nd your routine. You ditched the monotonous desk job and took up ur passion inspires me to fulfill my own( if not fulltime..i can give it a try for part time)Very sorry for asking personal questns but that comes naturally as we find you’ll one amongst us and its just that when we see you guys in “rose tinted pics” we also feel like to be a part or relive those moments ourselves and create memories. Missed the chance of meeting you guys in person as i started following u just when you’ll landed in mumbai..maybe next time and by then, i wld know a lot more of savi nd vid so there wkd be no room for awkwardness.
P.s- pls ignore the grammatical errors savi since u may cringe being a phd and a professor too. I am sure vid is cool. Cheers guys nd stay blessed.

  19. SURRENDER – I absolutely love this message! With the busy lives we live and the enchantment of smart phones, its too easy to forget to soak up the place or moment that we are in. Thank you for this reminder that magic is all around us 🙂

    1. So happy to hear that – have to confess that it is my favourite part of this post too. So glad you picked up on it 🙂

      Much love

  28. I am heartbroken Vid you didn’t like Egypt.Which all places did you go to. I fell in love with the Nile’s deep blue placid waters, the valley of kings landscape and going underground into those tombs was like walking straight into a Hollywood set. And then I didn’t spot a single local woman in luxor and thanked my stars to be born and living in a free country for women (miles still to go though), the drive from luxor to hurghada was unlike any other desert landscape I had seen and finally the pitas, the falafels and egyptian dips were to die for but I agree partially even I hated Cairo their capital city but the rest of egypt whatever little I saw was awesome & I wanted to extend my stay as always. How will I recover from this shock Vid just gave but anyways I still love you ? Keep inspiring itchy feet like us.

    1. Hey Kamakshi,

Thanks for your message 🙂 It’s actually Savi who wrote that she is not particularly fond of Egypt (phew! I am off the hook now ;-))

      Much love
      Savi and Vid 🙂

  29. Hey Savi & Vid,

Its not only interesting & enthralling but very inspiring and encouraging as well :). Have travelled extensively in India and yet to explore outside our country! And reading such blogs that is so informative and very well written that it helps people like us who look forward to make such beautiful trips soon.. You guys doing a great job.. keep up teh good work 🙂 🙂

    1. Thanks a lot Rimpy for your message 🙂 We are happy to hear that our blog inspires us to travel more – our work is done in that case 🙂

Hope you get to travel tons soon!

We travel because we need to, because distance and difference are the secret tonic to creativity.
When we get home, home is still the same but something in our minds has changed and that changes everything ?

You are so always so upbeat and your pictures are bright and chirpy- right off a postcard, yet when it comes to it you’re always very open and honest about the bitter side of your lifestyle and you dont shy away from talking about the realities of the world we live in. Its very real. Like listening to the travel stories of a sibling! ?
You inspire me to live authentically with every new post ❤

    1. Hey Priajasmine we are so glad that you could discover the element of honesty in our posts.Yes we hate to exaggerate and always like to give out the actual truth as it is so that our readers get the exact information that they are looking for. Thanks once again for your appreciation:)

Since so long, I have been following your Insta & Facebook pages. Reading your blogs daily in my travelling time from office to home.
Me and my husband both love travelling. The way you both chasing your travelling passion is just amazing, no words.
In last year we did backpacking trip to Europe. I was gone though all your blogs related to topic, following your do’s and don’ts.
We covered 6 countries in 32 days. That was the most amazing experience, We learnt many things though.

Now we are planning for Leh-Ladakh road trip in coming 2 months. I have some questions related to this.
Where we can discuss please suggest.

    Nikita.

  40. Hey! Traveling is my passion but not my profession. People like you are great source of inspiration for people like me. It felt great reading your story. Keep writing and keep traveling!

  41. Hey. Traveling is my passion but not my profession. People like you are great source of inspiration for people like me. It felt great reading your story. Keep writing and keep traveling!

  42. You guys are truly inspirational and I & my wife are really motivated seeing yo to plan more travels around the world. Thank you for the inspiration Bruised Passport.

  43. great blog!
please correct the map which shows Jammu and Kashmir which is one of the states in india in a different(disputed?) formatting.
J&K is an integral part of India which has been occupied by the hostile neighbors but we shall take it back when the time is right.

  44. Hey, I am a huge fan of yours! You guys are damn adorable
What you guys are doing is amazing. I also want to travel the world and explore the places like you guys.
Right now i am doing my under graduation. I wan to do something (academically) or get into something which will help me travel the world
As you guys travel so much and are into this field is there anything that i can study to get into this industry?

    1. Hey Mitali – I don’t know of any degree but a number of professions can help you travel such a being a TV anchor, pilot, air stewardess etc. You could work towards any one of them 🙂

  45. Hey Savi nVid.. Who clicks ur pics on trips… U use tripod or take professional photographer with u?

  46. It was so great to read about you guys.. Keep smiling & Keep travelling.
Out of curiosity, How do you make such amazing videos? Editing software?

  47. Hi….. Savi and vid How do you do..?? I am your big fan. I also planned to wander the world with my hubby. But my husband has overstayed in UK with his student visa.. can he able to visit Finland as a tourist..? Please reply me if you know what to do..
    Thank you… Keep moving?

    1. Hey Ranjani – I don’t think you can travel if you’ve overstayed any visa. You need to sort that out first 🙂

  48. Hi!!.. It’s really awesome to see how you guys manage your travel, blogs….Etc..

It might be “easy”.. for a couple to travel so frequently with such frequency …

But with kids.. how do you plan to travel then?? And how will you manage money then?

    1. Thanks Ishitta – a lot of our blogger friends travel full time with 2 and 3 kids, so I think it’s a case of ‘where there’s a will, there’s a way’ 🙂

  49. Dear Savi and Vid,

Every year me and my husband plan our anniversary vacation. February 2019 Valentines we are completing 4 yrs. We both are working, I am a education consultant and my husband is a Aerospace engineer. To come out from our busy work routines, we both really look forward to our anniversary ritual break. We prefer to plan the trip and do necessary bookings way in advance as Valentines week can get lil tough. We love to save for this special trip and enjoy luxury that best fits our budget 😉 .

This year we are planning a trip to a foreign location(preferably a week). We have shortlisted three destinations ( Maldives, Mauritius, New Zealand) it will be helpful if you guys could help us pick one. Also, it will be great if you could suggest any other destination other then these.

    Thanks

    1. Hey all 3 destinations are very different – but I’d recommend Mauritius for a beach holiday mixed with culture, Maldives for a relaxed luxury beach holiday, and New Zealand for an active and scenic road trip. You can pick the one that suits your tastes best 🙂

  50. Hey both,
Recently bumped onto your Instagram account and read most of your articles on this site on the first day itself- it was like binge reading 🙂 Its got such a positive vibe about it and have a ring of ‘down to earth-ness’.
    Best,

  53. Wow,first of all your story is very inspiring and I love your page alot! I wanted to know how did that transition of being a full time traveller took place when you were involved in your full time jobs, I always find the beginning the hardest, like paying attention to your job and travel simultaneously.

    1. Yes, you summed it up so well yourself. The first few years were super hectic as we were juggling our jobs and a new project (bruised passports) but since it was something we enjoyed doing even the 18 hour days didn’t feel like such a big price to pay for achieving the life of our dreams. As they say, nothing worth having comes for free 🙂

  54. Today for a minute I got so negative about everything, but after visiting your website and reading your posts again, I gained my positivity back. You both are my inspiration. Truly. ❤️

  55. Hi Savi & Vid.
You guys inspire lives. Always looked up to you guys.
I’m planning my honeymoon for late December 2019 extending over January 2020. Could you please help with any recommendations for the best places in Europe around that time?

  56. Hi Savi and Vid, Let’s start with just saying we love you and your work. Its pure Art.
We are an Indian couple settled in Dubai with our 2 yr old toddler son. We wish to travel during the Eid break (June first week) to a farm/fruit orchard not very far from Dubai, where we can enjoy the farm life, pet the farm animals and pick some fruits. We dont mind taking the flight and drive upto the farm. Can you please suggest us the ideal places to go. Thanks a bunch guys.

    1. Hey Priyanjali,

Sorry for a late reply. Hope you were able to find that farm and had a great trip 🙂

  57. Hey Vid and savi!!! I love you both.. keep travelling and motivating us!!
Savi, what does your tattoo mean which is on your wrist.??

  58. Hey, I am a new to your bruised passports. I really love your content obvio you guys. Can you please tell more about your education and where you guys have been raised and bread. Also, tell us who actually manage your sites and accounts? Like I have seen some bloggers or celebs where somebody else takes care of it, so elaborate that to. Just curious!

    1. Hi Ayushi both of us are from Delhi. By education, Savi is a lecturer of English Literature and I am an IT consultant

  59. Hi guys ,
I am a new follower of both of you , keep doing all the good you guys have been doing , god bless.
I would like to plan a one week family trip ( 2 adults and 2 kids (7 year olds)), in the month of march,2020 , and would very much like your opinion and guidance for the same.
    TIA

      1. hi again,
i was planning for “BALI”, but there is no detailed plan given in your holiday with kids section.
it would be great if you could help.

    1. Hello Savi and Vid ? hands down best couple . It’s just amazing and lovely seeing u guys. Been following ur blogs from past 3 yrs . Like Bolivia n all which u guys hv been earlier , of which I don’t have d currency.

  60. Hi Savi&Vid,

I am travelling to Netherlands and Belgium in last week of December. Could you please suggest whether is it advisable to purchase a local sim card or go with my current Indian sim and activate international roaming on it?
PS: My most use will be data/internet browsing.

    1. Hey Arpit,

If you’ll be using a lot of data, then it’s better to get a local sim in either place as it will also work in the other country (so if you buy in Netherlands it should work in Belgium too). If it’s only light data usage and you’ll also be calling India a lot, then it’s better to activate international roaming.

  61. Hi Savi and Vid! So a quick question, what visa do you have for Europe that allows you to stay for long periods of time ? And do you guys own your place in London or is it a different place each time ?

  62. Hii Savi &Vid,
Really love your work and your passion for Tavel and each other. You guys are such an inspirational.
Vid, How do you manage to click such beautiful Perfect shot with both of you in frame?
    Keep smiling & keep loving?

    1. Hey Shaily – I use a tripod or sometimes ask a friend/tour guide to help us if that’s possible 🙂

  63. Mam, Sir
Do you have any travel recommendation and videos on best places to visit in India?? Like in North, east , west n south.

  64. Who or What was your inspirations to start blogging or travel around the world? Also, how do you manage to calm yourself onsite? I mean it is really hard. For an example, I take my profession as my responsibility and having deadlines are horrible things. Even if small thing is not working out, I would probably lose my mind. So, how do you manage and stay calm? as you consider travelling and blogging as your profession. (As well as sometimes you may also have pressures from your brand, I mean who you are working with) Thanks for inspiring!:)

    1. Hey Jeni – It is hard to stay calm, but we focus all our energies on creating the best content we can and delivering the best possible work – everything else takes a backseat, which makes it easy to prioritise

  65. Hi Vid and Savi 🙂
I am planning to visit the Rann of Kutch from 24th january to 26th January. I am very keen to visit the Rann Festival. Can you please suggest how can i go about it and any specific bookings I can go ahead with?
Thanks and love you guys <3

  66. Which credit cards would you recommend for travel advantages? Like travel points and such.
And I love you guys. Trike an inspiration for me to start my travel blog. ?❤️

    1. AmEx Platinum Travel and HDFC Regalia are good – we actually have a couple of different ones that we use for lounge access, travel rewards etc

  67. Hi,
We have done Newzealand last year and Planning to do Switzerland next year. Does NZ and Switzerland have same beauty, landscapes.
Which country we should if not Switzerland

    1. Hey they are not similar but yes the landscapes are stunning in both places! If you want something different, check out Croatia 🙂

  68. Hi,

First things first, you must have heard this before but on the risk of sounding like a broken record let me say you guys are an inspiration to many of us. I think anywhere we have been to we have always looked up to your trips and experiences.
I have your website bookmarked as my favourite and i visit it frequently.

Just wanted to check if you guys publish day by day itineraries for destinations ?

Also there are some links which are not easily accessible from your website but only found some links only by google or scrolling through comments. For e.g. this link for vietnam https://www.bruisedpassports.com/category/vietnam we found only in comments but did not find it navigable within the website.
